Amazon's Echo Siri's and Google Now Like Features in a Speaker
It seems that tech companies are choosing to use the surprise element over rumors as a marketing strategy. Just last week HP surprised everyone with the HP Sprout a PC that seems like it is from a science fiction movie. A few days later Microsoft dropped the Microsoft fitness band from the skies.
On November 6, Amazon introduced a wireless speaker, but it is not an ordinary speaker. It's called Amazon Echo, a wireless speaker that talks back. It is comparable to Apple's Siri, and Google Now. The speaker is listening 24/7. Just say "ALEXA" and ask any question. The speaker "ALEXA" will use the cloud to find your answer.
Amazon has been using voice search features in their latest products, like the Amazon FireTV, and FirePhone. ALEXA can be included in Amazon's upcoming updates for the FirePhone, and hopefully the FireTV.
What Can Alexa Do?
First thing's first, since Amazon Echo ALEXA is connected to the the cloud it will keep getting smarter. But for now ALEXA can read news, forecast weather, play music from Amazon or other providers, set alarms, update a to-do list, and answer general questions.
What's Inside Amazon Echo?
There are seven microphones located on the top of the speaker. According to Amazon the speaker will hear from anywhere in the room even if the speaker is playing music. Aside from the seven microphones, there is a 2.0 inch tweeter, and 2.5 inch woofer. This combination will create a clear and enhanced sound quality.
If you are a prime member you can get the speaker for $99 for a limited time only, but you have to request an invitation. After that Amazon Echo will have a price tag of $199.

I am hoping to receive an invitation to purchase the speaker, and create a video review. Amazon Echo seems like a great idea, with its cool design and high quality features. Hopefully the sound quality will be as crisp and dynamic as Amazon promises.
